LOGIC UPDATE: Invoice Note VS Work Order Note

Initially, Invoice notes were the same as Work Order notes, following a basic logic set from the beginning.

Over the years, however, the company has introduced several enhancements, including recurring work order notes, recurring invoice notes, a default note for invoice frequency, and recurring invoices attaching itself to active jobs.

These additions have led to issues such as Work Order notes replacing Invoice notes, and vice versa. For example, setting a default Invoice note can unintentionally wipe out all job-specific recurring Work Order notes. Similarly, setting Work Order notes is currently causing saved recurring Invoice notes to be wiped out, resulting in reports of 'missing notes.' The old logic no longer fits with the new features.

In response to these issues, we have decided to permanently separate Invoice notes and Work Order notes. While having identical notes for convenience was beneficial, we recognize the critical need to ensure that no notes are deleted or overwritten by each other.

To support this change, we have introduced a new feature that allows you to easily transfer notes between Invoices and Work Orders.

On the invoice, click Insert and select "Insert from Work Order Notes"

On WorkOrder, click 3 dots and select "Insert from Invoice Notes"

The 'Insert from' feature is currently available in V3 and the new app update.

The 'Insert from' feature is not available in the classic version, so we recommend transitioning to V3 to take advantage of the latest updates.
